I visited the 20th Doha International Book Fair last Sunday,3 January 2010. The fair – held in Doha Exhibition Center – presents more than 420 publishers from around the world. On display is 76,000 titles. Unfortunately,at least for me, most of them are Arabic publishers. Only few of them displays English title books. There are also French and Japan representative however.
The book prices on some booths are cheap but some are the same as the price at their actual bookshops (i.e. ISpy bookshop, Jarir). Overall the fair – run from 30December to 9 Jan 2010 – could be rated average at best.
